About the Artist

I pick up bits from history, from artistic movements, and garbage from the street (hey, it recycles and it's cheap materials). Ephemera fascinates me– grocery flyers, lottery tickets, business cards, the mundane features of everyday life. I believe that these objects, the ones that are normally discarded, have a lasting power that can tell you more about a point in time than even the best-researched history books ever could.

I'm kinda a human magpie.

My folks are from Kentucky, I was born in New Jersey, grew up in California, went to art school in Paris and New York City and now reside in Savannah, Georgia. I have been a historical tour guide in my weird little Southern town for over a decade, specializing in the Victorian and Edwardian eras.

When I'm not making esoterically influenced art I enjoy kayaking, taking road trips, and photographing the upper corners of buildings.

Oh, and "damfino"? A mild oath from the Victorian era, it is a an abbreviation of the best summation I can describe for my work..."damned if I know".
